Pine Ridge Church-In-A-Box Uses A Lot Of Billboard White-Out!

Did Pine Ridge Church in Graham, NC cover up their salacious billboard? Unfortunately, no. But they did recently cover up the section of the billboard that contains the name of where they meet.

Wally the Wiener??? Oh come on now!

By posting this I am not making a statement against the necessity of addressing the porn problem, nor am I making a statement against helping those with this addiction; but I am making a statement on how we are to do it.
Specifically, I just don’t think this is how Christians should go about doing it:

Make it Stop Part II – Clown Communion? Luther, you’re turn to stop rolling!

Just when you thought the seeker-sensitive apostacy couldn’t go any further, then THIS arrives! What blasphemey to distort the Lord’s Supper in this manner!
“Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks thecup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.” 1 Cor 11:27

Dr. Albert Mohler has a commentary on an article written in the Good News Magazine by Rob Renfroe, a United Methodist Pastor. I wish there were more UMC pastors like this him.

“Jesus is so real, even Church Norris bows his knee to Him”

Chuck Norris mania has taken over the internet in recent years, with funny sayings of his macho-ness, like:

“There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of animals Chuck Norris allows to live.”
“When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night, he checks his closet for Chuck Norris.”
“Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits.”
“Chuck Norris doesn’t [...]

“Try Jesus?” What Bible verse says that?

The modern “gospel” message, which I truly think is “another gospel” (Gal 1:6-8) says to “Try Jesus.” What is sometimes stated and sometimes implied, is “give this Jesus thing a whirl and see if your life doesn’t improve.” Is this the Biblical message of what it means to become a Christian? I don’t think so.
Jesus [...]

Basic Christianity by John Stott

“The Christian landscape is strewn with the wreckage of derelict, half-built towers – the ruins of those who began to build and were unable to finish. For thousands of people still ignore Christ’s warning and undertake to follow him without first pausing to reflect on the cost of doing so. The result is [...]

Calling “evil” “good”

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
Isaiah 5:20
“Worldliness is that system of values in any given culture that makes sin look normal and which makes righteousness look strange or alien.” ~ David Wells

Speaking the Truth, in love, regardless of the consequences

In my last post I put up a commentary on Galatians 4:16 which is the theme I took for my blog context (speaking the truth even if the message is offensive). In that post there were some great comments from some of the regular readers of this blog, which I appreciated. (If you didn’t read [...]

Church marquee messages: “Fight Truth Decay, Study The Bible Daily”

I like church marquees. They often tell a lot about a church, good or bad. Sometimes in an effort to be pithy, church marquee writers leave a lot to be desired in the truth department, or even expose readers to erroneous theology.
I saw this marquee at a local church, and not only is it a [...]

Did the media do “a hack job,” or did the PCUSA hack the truth themselves?

I have heard some PCUSA members during the last few weeks, on the heels of their denomination’s conference, state that “the media did a hack job on us.” But the question remains, whose media is doing the hacking?
The “media” I have read has accurately related the things that actually took place at the conference. I [...]
