Over at Barefoot In The Park a neat article on worship, by Bob Kauflin, is discussed. In discusing this article, the author says,
I know at my church where I’m heavily involved in the music, I tend to favor songs that have some substance to them in the lyrics. I’m not really against “simple” songs, however some (if not many) praise choruses just don’t say much of anything about God or what He has done for us, and, as a result, we don’t say very much to one another when we sing them as a congregation.
Amen! I much prefer good theological songs, regardless of the format, over the simplistic, 7-11, hypnotic “praise” choruses that pass for “worship” these days!
