The Bible’s emphasis on historical revelation (1 Cor. 15:13-15), doctrinal propositions (Rom. 10:9), and natural revelation (1:18-20) presume that objective truth exists. This places Christians in direct opposition to postmodern thinking.

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for dinner. The bill for all ten comes to $100.
If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:
· The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing
· The fifth would pay $1
· The sixth would pay $3
· The seventh [...]

Once again, the CRI Journal hits the postmodern nail on the head!
Today the church faces a challenge far greater than the Renaissance, potentially more divisive than the Reformation, and more insidious in its inroads into the life of the church itself than the secularist rationalism of the Enlightenment. I am referring to postmodernism.
If this sounds [...]

See if you can find the incredible statement!
The U.S. House of Representatives yesterday passed a bill to allow further destruction of human embryos by easing restrictions on human embryonic stem cell research. The 238-194 vote fell far short of enough votes needed to overcome a promised presidential veto. The dinner-time vote followed some contentious, and [...]

The Christian Research Institute, a great apologetic ministry of the former Dr. Walter Martin, publishes the CRI Journal to which I have subscribed for years. I recommend this journal to the discerning Christian seeking truth in a world filled with cults, aberrant Christian teachings, and postmodern gobbledy gook. Their review of McLaren’s book is a [...]

Being Church
Stuart McAllister
We live in the age of what Kenneth Gergen describes as the “saturated self". It can give one the feeling that a dam has burst! And it has.
The idea of the saturated self is evidenced by the massive overload we all feel as we are bombarded by choices, by options, by voices, by [...]

A great article on resolving conflict in the church from Christianity Today's Leadership Forum. Some excellent points were:
Peacemaking is not "peace faking." Often the peacemaker is the one who says, "Let's stop covering up. Let's deal with it."—Ken Sande
Whether you're the sinner or the victim, go! Make things right. There's an immediacy. You have to [...]

I am currently reading a small book by this author called “Are you being duped?” which I am enjoying very much. Here is a short excerpt from another book of his. I appreciate the passion he exhibits in his writing about a touchy subject.

I have a simple quiz for you.
How do you respond when someone close to you — a family member, friend or coworker — falls into really serious sin? Do you uphold the biblical standards of righteousness and remind him or her that actions have consequences? Or do you put your arm around that person and [...]

This is a follow up post to an original blog I did several months ago. Click on this link for proof of the truth of my original message:
“All Yoga Is One”
This article from http://www.yoga-age.com/ clearly shows that all yoga is the same. Note the section, Fundamental Unity of Different Yoga Systems. This should ring alarm [...]

John MacArthur had a good article for Mother's Day, reflecting on W. L. Caldwell from 1928:
I once came across an interesting article on motherhood by a man named W. L. Caldwell written back in 1928. Here’s what he said:
Well may we pause to pay honor to her who after Jesus Christ is God’s best gift [...]

Last year I read Charles Stanley’s book “Confronting Casual Christianity” which I highly recommend by the way. In that book he had a prayer that I have cherished, and thought this would be a good day to share it.
Lord,
Through Your Son Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit that indwells me, I shall [...]

Shhhhhh! Don’t tell Terri Schiavo about this! Oh I forgot, you can’t – she’s dead. Nevermind.
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — A firefighter brain-damaged in a 1995 roof collapse had an “amazing” weekend, recognizing and speaking with his four sons and other family and friends for the first time in years, a family spokesman said Monday.
“I want [...]
